Hi over there! :)
The time ran so fast. I can not believe that I am in my second last week here in Santa Barbara. It will be sad to leave all the friends here. However, I have one great weekend in front of me because on THIS weekend I am going to Las Vegas!! But now I wanna tell you about my last activities here in California. There were two great things.
First there was my weekend trip to San Diego. I drove with a friend from Saturday morning to San Diego for nearly four hours. First we stopped at a beautiful small city right before San Diego called La Jolla
. the city has a wonderful large coast. There are many pelicans and seals. The water was very clear and the waves huge. After a while there we drove the last 20 minutes to San Diego. We had a hotel near the historic Gaslamp Quarter
. We walked through this quarter and along the harbor. Then we watched the sunset in a park at the ocean. On Sunday we visited the USS Midway Museum
. That is an aircraft carrier from the US Navy. You can do an audio tour through the whole big ship. After that we drove with the car over the Coronado Bridge to Coronado Island
. This island shapes the bay of San Diego. It is wonderful there. On the sea side of the island is a very long beautiful beach and on the side to San Diego is a nice park where many people barbecuing. We visited first the beach there. After a walk along the beach we made a car tour around the island and drove then back along the Silver Strand
and to the end of the bay. Then we drove all the way up to San Diego again and visited the Balboa Park
. It is a huge park in the middle of the city and the airplanes are flying very close over the park. It was not so relaxing for me because of the noise from the planes but it is really beautiful there. Then we drove back to Santa Barbara. We choose the right time to go back. We had not much traffic that is seldom here like in Switzerland. :) The only difference is that there are up to six lanes in one direction on the highway. :D
I also visited the Disneyland in Los Angeles. We visited it on two workdays. But there were still a lot of people. I can not imagine how it is on a weekend. :) We stayed in the Disneyland hotel for one night and we could visit both parks. First we visited the Adventure Park and on the second day we visited the regular Disneyland Park. It was very funny. Of course, both parks are primary for children and not for a 21-years old man like me. :D But sometimes everybody is still a child. ;)
Now, you are again up to date what I am doing here in America. I hope I will still have enough money after my gambling tour in Las Vegas and who knows... maybe I will become a millionaire. ;D
See you soon in Switzerland! Byeee!
